Lake Placid Lodge
The Lake Placid Lodge, an exclusive mountain retreat in North America, is nestled on the secluded wood-lined shore of Lake Placid, and offers breath-taking views of the age-old Adirondack Mountains.
A romantic and rustically elegant retreat, the Lodge offers warm and comfortable decor, stone fireplaces in every room and cabin, deep-soaking tubs, and endless outdoor recreation. The highly acclaimed restaurant serves innovative New American cuisine composed with classical French techniques, using local organic farmhouse products.
The Lodge's seventeen guestrooms and seventeen cabins, named for the region’s high peaks and lakes, are filled with rustic twig and birch bark furniture, richly colored and textured fabrics, Adirondack antiques, oriental carpets, and artwork created by local artisans.
But each room is unique. A bed whose legs are tree roots seems to grow out of the floor. A private porch sits high and quiet over the lake. A stone-alcoved fireplace fills an entire wall.

During the reconstruction months of the Lodge, a number of talented artists and craftsmen approached the owners of the Lodge, David and Christie Garrett, about showcasing their work there.
They saw in the rustic beadboard and unpeeled cedar beams the ultimate gallery setting that would properly show off their craftworks. Almost all of the artwork on the walls of the common areas and guest rooms is for sale, as well as select pieces of Adirondack furniture

The Lake Placid Lodge showcases the work of talented local artists in a unique Adirondack atmosphere. Their works can be found throughout the property as well as in the Great Camp Trading Company gallery.
The Lodge's hope is that guests and visitors will appreciate the talent inspired by the Adirondack wilderness, and perhaps take home with them a memento, or commission a new work from one of these artisans so that their passionate interpretations of the Adirondack wilderness will not be lost.
