The resort provides an opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage of the Sonoran Southwest through activities that focus on the culture, flora, fauna, and geography of Arizona.

Visitors have the opportunity to discover the beauty of the Sonoran Desert throughout the resort's grounds. The resort's Director of Horticulture introduces native plants and stories of the desert and the Environmental Coordinator explains the importance of conservation in the Sonoran Desert

The resort's art collection was developed to be of interest to a variety of tastes: styles include representational, historical, international, abstract, even whimsical.
Art was collected in a variety of media including sculpture, wall friezes, paintings, cast paper watercolors, ceramics, and textile finishes. The majority of sculpture is site-specific.

The art also includes art and artifacts from a variety of international cultures. Some of the examples of sculpture include: 20 foot high glass and limestone sculpture by Damian Priour; three ceramic stoneware columns by Jamie Walker; 12 - foot wide sculptural gates spanning the entrance to the pool; two 76 inch kinetic sculptures functioning as whimsical weathervanes; and three bronze sculptures by Louis Mueller.
Some of the artifiacts include a hand carved jade collection; a collection of silver buddhas; a group of rare beaded ceramic

baskets; a rare feather mask from South America; a group of 18th-century gold and silver Chinese hairpins; and a collection of 17 pre-Columbian artifacts from Mexican and Peruvian cultures from 700 B.C. to 1200 A.D.

The Learning Center is also the home of the resort's award-winning Environmental Program, and visitors can experience indigenous music and dance performances and First Nations cuisine.

The Native American Environmental and Learning Center is a showcase for some of the highly recognized Native American artisans who share their art, vision and traditional knowledge
and teachings.

Native American cultural interpreters offer tours, lectures, demonstrations and hands-on activities that even children can enjoy.
